they may be more an album band than a singles one, but edinburgh-based homescience, much like the flaming lips are quite blatantly excellent, no matter how long you listen to them for. definitely a good record to celebrate long summer evenings with.

welcome return for homescience this time on damaged goods records. last years debut for the classy pickled egg label was certainly one of the singles of the year, this time equal infectious is 'dumb angel'. this time the band take the more mortal route, sounding just a little like prime time teenage fanclub circa 'bandwagonesque'. turn to the flip to savour 'depth of an airport lounge' which for me just edges the title track just for the way it impertinently snakes lazily along. just to sexy for it's sleeve by far.
